Hope Ahead is a 14-week class to help women find Freedom and Hope and grow in their walk with God. Tools and healing from any “Big Bad”—abandonment, divorce, abuse, trauma, difficult marriages, etc. The book is written from the perspective of sexual abuse (Barb’s story), but many women have been helped as they face their own deep hurts. Hope Ahead has tools to deal with pain, stories and encouragement that move you from Pain to Joy.
The class is designed to help women find their Peace in Jesus. Women can shed shame, pain and the heartache—and live the abundant life Christ promises. Discipleship partners find hints that really help.
This could be the best summer of your life! Join us as we journey to Freedom!

Dr. Hodges, a nationally known speaker and author, will be speaking about his book, Good Mood Bad Mood. As a medical doctor and a Biblical counselor Dr. Hodges has a unique perspective to the topics of depression and bipolar disorder. He will also touch on the topic of PTSD.
Depression and bipolar disorder are two of the most common diagnoses made in medicine today. Good Mood, Bad Mood; examines whether we are in an epidemic or if we have simply misdiagnosed common sadness as depression. Current research in the medical community seems to indicate that the criteria we use to diagnose depression has resulted in an increased and incorrect labeling of common sadness as depression. While medical treatment is now the commonly accepted way to deal with pain and sadness, its promise has not been fulfilled. In Good Mood, Bad Mood, Dr. Charles Hodges offers an explanation to help the reader see the importance of sadness and the hope that God gives us in His Word.
If someone you know suffers from depression, please consider attending this conference. It will be a helpful time as you seek to help others. This conference is sponsored by the Albuquerque Biblical Counseling Training Center and our goal is to promote Biblical counseling in helping the hurting. The Bible has much to say about the topic of depression and sadness and we believe you will walk away with tools to help those who suffer from depression. Dr. Hodges insights are thought provoking and clarifying and we believe you will be blessed as you spend time listening to his concerns and his concepts.

Here at North, we desire to be disciples of Jesus - but I continue to here the questions asked,
“What does that mean?”
“What does it mean to be discipled?”
“What does it mean to be a disciple-making-disciple?”
There are so many different thoughts and ideas of what a disciple is and the implications of that in our everyday lives.
This is why it is so important to the elders of our church that all of our leaders and as many as possible attend Pastor Bill Clem’s Discipleship Training Day on August 11th, 2018. Bill has been a disciple of Jesus for over 40 years and is a campus pastor at Imago Dei Community Church in Portland, Oregon. I met Pastor Bill about 8 years ago and his teachings on our identity in Jesus and biblical discipleship have had a profound impact on my life - and will on yours too. He will break down pre-conceived notions and help us to think biblically and critically as the above questions are answered.
We will all leave with a clearer, more unified understanding of what a disciple is and how we live out that identity as we worship Jesus, love each other and share the Good News with those yet to meet the risen Christ.
Please sign up soon so we can plan the catering and other important aspects of the event.

Join us on Good Friday as we meditate on the sacrifice our God has made for us. This will be an open-door event! Come anytime between 6-8pm, meditate on Good a Friday and when you are ready, a host will take you to a table to read through the crucifixion & Lord's supper. Take communion with a pastor and leave at any time!
A Christ-centered Passover shows the link between the ancient festival of Passover and Jesus as the Lamb of God! Each person will get to participate in partaking of the traditional Passover Scripture readings and food. This will deepen your understanding of the Last Supper that Jesus ate with his disciples, and will deepen your experience of the Lord's Supper.
We will be gathering around tables as families for a service that is roughly 90 minutes. There will not be childcare available, but children are encouraged to participate at parent's discretion. RSVP is required, and spaces are limited so click the link and register!
Please eat before you come as this meal will not fill your belly.
What IF we followed God with perseverance instead of insecurity? At IF:Gathering 2018, we will look at one of Paul’s letters to Timothy as he reminded him of the power and responsibility of sharing the gospel. We want to give God away in the very places He’s put us, so we’re going to gather for the purpose of remembering why following God and making disciples matters. We all get tired, we all wonder if what we’re doing matters, so IF:Gathering 2018 will be the reminder--it will be the celebration. The work we’re doing to share the gospel on the earth is worth it and God DOES move through the little things that nobody sees. Join us!
Just a reminder we will be doing a 4 mile or so hike on Saturday at 7:00 AM, meet in the parking lot at the Embudito Trailhead. Google maps think is below. Its going to be chilly so dress in layers. Let me know if you need any winter gear, I have extra. This is an easy hike for anyone who is a beginner!
