Ashley Davidson on Jennie Allen

As of two years ago, I had never heard of Jennie Allen. I had never read her books nor heard her speak. I was going through a difficult season in my life; I was spiritually and emotionally numb from a load of new changes that life seemed to bring all at once. I was too tired to be excited about Jesus anymore. Feeling obligated to remain in a bible study that I had started with several other women, we began to walk through a study book called Chase.

It’s hard for me to describe what happened that next year. Through Jennie’s book and teachings, God began to move in my heart again. It seemed to be a rapid shift, but what was different? What inspired me about Jennie was her passion and ache for this invisible God that I had believed in for so long. She KNEW Him on a level that I began to crave. She loved the bible and knew it well. She was transparent in her struggles and was begging for women around the world to join her in the good fight. She longed for those who didn’t know Christ to finally come to Him. Her faith began to grow my faith through the power of the Holy Spirit. I could not get enough of Christ; I wanted more. I then began to repent of the idols and control I had claimed over my heart.

Jennie reminded us of who we were: daughters of the Almighty King who will be coming back one day. She taught me about surrendering this worldly life and what it meant to open-handedly walk with Jesus again. I also witnessed the 20 or so women, going through the same study, begin to change. They began to take steps of faith in their own lives because they also wanted to know Jesus more.

I love the heart and the gifts that God has given to Jennie Allen. I love her desire to unite and equip women from churches around the world. I am so excited to be able to share her love of Christ with you. That we all may be encouraged and reminded of our Mighty Savior and what He has done for us.
